Well as you can probably guess, October was VERY busy for me. I haven't gotten around to blogging and I am going to try and be better about it from here on out! School was the main culprit. I was cruising along feeling like I was, for the most part, on top of my shit. But then October hit and all of a sudden if felt like I had three exams, a problem set, two quizzes and four meetings to do or go to EVERY SINGLE DAY. Whoever said grad school would be a good idea was a freaking lunatic. That being said at least I feel like I am getting smarter. My grades may not reflect that, but it's on the inside what counts right?? At our white coat ceremony, our guest speaker said that there are three main "phases" of pharmacy school. 1) unconsciously incompetent 2) consciously incompetent 3) consciously competent. Last year this time I was DEFINITELY unconsciously incompetent. Boy that was a nice place to be. I knew absolutely nothing about pharmacy but it didn't matter because I didn't know that I knew nothing about pharmacy. Well I have officially hit the consciously incompetent stage, where now I realize how little I know about pharmacy. That stage three can't come fast enough to say the least. ONLY TWO AND A HALF MORE YEARS TARA (crying on the inside). Amidst the school work I managed to do some fun activities. First it was my dad's birthday earlier in the month and he came to visit. I made him birthday cupcakes which was a special treat. We went to Bridgeman's which is probably my favorite place to eat in town. You know a restaurant is good when 50% of the people eating there is over the age of 65. You laugh but it's true! They have cheap, but homemade food with breakfast ALL DAY. A weekend later I went with a group of friends to hike on the Superior Hiking Trail. The trees were just finishing but it was still beautiful! On our way back through Two Harbors, we HAD to stop at the famous Betty's Pies. We split some pieces of pie so that way everyone could try a different flavor! Then for pretty much the rest of the month I was consumed with school. Lately I have been studying better in places other than my apartment. One day I'll stay at school, the next I'll go to a coffee shop, or sometimes I go to Panera. The change in atmosphere is nice. And last, but certainly not least, I got a tattoo! I have been wanting one for awhile now but wasn't committed to a design or a spot to put it. I went to Living Art Studio and my artist was Josh. He did a great job and it is perfect! I think the placement is very tasteful and I like that it is visible. The arrows don't have a specific meaning but in general the tattoo is a symbol/reminder of where I am in my life right now. Years from now I can look at it and recall all the memories I've made, the people I've met, and the places I've gone. I am so happy with the way it turned out!
(the picture below was immediately after but I'll post another once it's completely healed)

Just remember it is all going to be good and everything we go through makes us who we are.i am happy you enjoy Bridgemans asI love it too. I worked at Bridgemans for twelve years and it was my favorite job. There used to be about ten Bridgemans in Duluth. Everything is good with me and I am enjoying the kids and new dining center. Arrow tattoos are great. They're a symbol of progress, because you have to pull them back to let them fly :-)
