Well they say all good things must come to an end. The time has come to say goodbye to summer 😔 My last few days were filled with fun and memorable activities. I guess you could say I went out with a bang! A staple for any summer in Duluth is a malt from the Portland Malt Shoppe. Hands down the best malt you will ever have. On weekends they have lines that go out all the way to the street. At work we have been known for sending someone on their lunch break to stand in line and get malts for everyone😂 The stairs going up are like the stairway to heaven... Chocolate is my favorite but they have all different flavors. Butterscotch, cookies and cream, and raspberry are ones that I've all tried! They're kinda pricey but SO worth it. I am definitely going to miss going on long walks next to the lake. Sometimes Justin and I go down and spend the whole night skipping rocks, watching boats, and sitting on shore. Summers here are the BEST! We also took a day trip to Bayfield, Wisconsin this week. Neither of us had ever been kayaking before and have always wanted to try. It was the perfect day! The lake was like glass. I brought my knitting along for the car ride. I am working on making a headband for winter! We also brought snacks. I am in love with these almonds from CVS right now. Lastly, the Tall Ships are here! It started raining when we were walking down there and all the crowds were thinning. It was a perfect time to go because we didn't have to fight as many people. This one is probably my favorite. Photo credit: Duluth News Tribune So... Monday is back to school. This summer was one of the best yet. Even though I'll miss all the adventures and sunshine, I am looking forward to seeing all of my classmates, cooler weather, leaves changing colors, and pumpkin flavored everything!
