One of the best parts of seeing my aunt and uncle were spending time with their pets, Kenzie and Murphy! I am a huge pet person, and I have a special place in my heart for dogs. Something about dogs just make you instantly happy. They always love you no matter what mood you're in. Someday when Justin and I have more time, space, and money we want to get a golden retriever ❤️. Kenzie is a yellow lab and looks almost identical to Ceaser, my dad's dog. She was so friendly and just wanted to play with her ball. Each morning she would snuggle up to me. Murphy is a mischievous little guy but yet oh so lovable. My aunt and uncle had lots of funny stories about him. He is infamous for getting into neighbor's cars when their windows are open and they end up driving off to work with him inside! The day after Olympus National Park we took the ferry to Whidby Island. We visited some small shops, hiked around, and had a relaxing picnic lunch. I didn't take many pictures from that day because I was too busy enjoying the time. But that's okay because sometimes being behind the lens the whole day takes away from making memories and being present in the moment. Saturday was my mom's birthday! My aunt, my mom, and I went for breakfast while my brother and my uncle went crab fishing. We went to a little french bistro, Sweet Laurette's. It was my favorite restaurant of the whole trip!! They had a unique menu full of fresh produce. I ordered The Frenchman's Toast which was french baguette slices soaked in vanilla, cinnamon, and orange custard, griddled then baked and sprinkled with powdered sugar. I also had a decaf latte that was the BEST latte I've EVER had... HANDS. DOWN. After eating, we went to the farmer's market. It seemed like everyone in Port Townsend was there! They had vendor's selling smoked fish, food trucks selling coffee and sandwiches, farmers selling flowers and produce, and even bakeries selling bread and sweets! Live music was playing and everyone was having a great time. I instantly saw the Henna stand and went over to look. I've always seen other people get Henna but had never done it myself. The prices were decent and the lady was very talented, so I decided why not! It turned out really cool! On the left was immediately after getting it, while the Henna mud was still drying. Center is after removing the dried mud and left is the next day! It faded faster than I wanted it to because of how much I was washing my hands but now I can say I have done it! The next morning I got to go crab fishing. My uncle found a good spot when he took my brother the morning before so we went to drop the "pots" in the same place. It was so much fun and another thing I had never experienced before! If you've ever seen The Deadliest Catch its a lot like that on a much smaller scale. MUCH SMALLER. You go out, drop the pots, wait, come back and, if you're lucky, haul in the crab. I learned that you can only keep 5 male crabs per license and they have to be over 6.25 inches in body width. My uncle even let me pull up the pots! We ended up with 5 keepers and ate a fresh cracked crab lunch! Finally on our last day, we went to the beach! It was the perfect day and we walked for a long time while the tide was out. A huge ship went through on its way to Seattle from overseas. Look at all the containers! It was hard to say good bye, but I know I'll be back soon! I had such a good time and it made this summer much more special. I bought this magnet to remind me of our trip and all the good memories we made 😊
